Second day in Tokyo, jetlag still bad, meaning not too much night shots. Still a Portra in the can, wait for the CineStills to arrive to the party!
This was the day dedicated for going to camera stores to see if there was any good deal, so I could buy a new camera (or film, or supplies) to use on the trip.
As I was going to Kitamura Camera (a famous camera store in Shibuya with 7 floors of camera stuff), I stopped by a place that looked like a casino, took some photos before seeing the “no photography” sign, it was too late. In one of the corridors, there was a Coca-Cola sign that composed pretty well with the colorful simmetry of the machines, love it, but again, highly regret of not having a CineStill on, imagine these two photos with the halation effect from the removed remjet layer…
Kitamura only opened 10 or 11 AM, in this day, I discovered that most stores in Japan only open after 10 (some after 1PM, including coffee shops). This is a killer for jetlaggters who wake up at 4AM and need caffeine to properly function.
I finally entered Kitamura at 10:01 AM, and got crazy, asked for permission to do photos inside the store, and once I got green light…

Off Kitamura, on to MAP Camera to continue my camera store pilgrination. Unfortunately MAP wasn’t very interesting, as they kinda only focus on digital cameras, not my cup of tea nowadays. Also, the store guy was rude with my son, and didn’t let him sit on a chair at the store. I left.
After leaving MAP, I photographed a store with almost no people nearby, a rare scene in Tokyo, which always look like an ocean of people.

After walking a little bit more, still jetlagged at the extreme, I headed back to the hotel, took some more subway shots, including one with a woman that seemed to leave an anime TV show.
And back to the hotel, where my son was sleeping on the bed at 6 PM. From our hotel window, we could see Tokyo Dome, a dome-shaped stadium that hosts baseball games, concerts, and other events. I composed with the reflex on the screen on something that looked like a double exposure, and did this photo to make it look like he was sleeping on the dome, just like Snorlax (Pokémon)!
